Estos últimos días he estado ocupadísima intentando terminar los regalitos de fin de curso de las seños de mis dos hijos.
Mi peque, Alejandro, termina este año con la guardería, así que me apetecía hacer un mural para ellos. La guardería se llama "Cherish" y empezamos con ellos hace 7 años, cuando mi Rodrigo tenía 6 meses. Me parece mentira. En fin... Que llevaba ya varios meses con esta idea en la mente y en cuanto que terminé mis exámenes me puse a la tarea.
Así es cómo se me ha quedado el mural. ¿A que está chulo? A mí me encanta y a las chicas de la guarde también. La directora se emocionó y todo. La idea del autobús, el árbol y la carretera arcoiris no es mía. La usan en uno de sus anuncios y yo lo adapté a la versión en tela.

These last few days I´ve been reaaally busy preparing the end of the year gifts for the teachers. I have two sons, Alejando is nearly 5 and Rodrigo is 7. Alejandro is finishing his Montessori year in the crèche and starting big school in September. I have prepared a wall hanging as a fairwell gift to the crèche. Their name is "Cherish Childcare" and I used one of their ads where they display a bus, a tree and a rainbow road and I turned it into my special fabric version.
They were really happy when I gave it to them, there were even some tears...
El autobús es como el que llevan ellas para recoger a los niños más grandes del cole, tiene pegatinas con manitas. Esto me costó más trabajo pero el efecto está chulo.
They also run an afterschool service and the bus they use for the school runs has stickers of little hands all over. I tried to reproduce the effect by using some embroidery... ain´t perfect but I´m happy with the result!
Sigo practicando un poquito con el acolchado libre y me encanta el efecto de las piedrecitas. ¿Qué os parece?

Rodrigo acaba de terminar First Class (por edad sería como un Segundo de Primaria de España). No sé si os he contado que va a un colegio irlandés, donde la enseñanza se imparte en el idioma gaélico, el propio de Irlanda antes de que el inglés se impusiera como primera lengua. Qué suerte tienen estos peques de hoy en día, son esponjitas para los idiomas. Para su
Múinteoir (seño), le he hecho una funda de libreta. Aquí os pongo unas fotitos, la luz no era genial porque era ya de noche, pero para que os hagáis una idea.
Rodrigo just finished First Class in an Irish school. In Ireland you have some schools where all the teaching is done in Irish, (as Gaeilge), a Celtic language that was spoken before English became the main language.
For his teacher, or Múinteoir, I made a notebook cover. Sorry for the light on the pictures, it was a bit late at night, but I was in a rush to get this taken! :o) I hope you like them.
